CommunityWhat People are Saying about St. Mary'sHaving retired from the navy after some 38 years of service, my wife, Ellie, and I were ready to try country living. We chose the Sherbrooke area for the outdoor activities it offered and the sheer beauty of the countryside. In fact, we found much more and wondered how we could have missed it all our lives. The pace of life was slower than the cities, and just about right; the people were friendly and sincere, and the general quality of life was superior to anything we had ever encountered. Family values were alive and well, and crime was all but non-existent. The village of about 300 offered all the basic necessities including a small hospital, two doctors, a lawyer, a bank, a library, a grocery and hardware, a pharmacy and several other excellent enterprises. It was a dream, but it was reality. We don't think there is a better place to live anywhere in the world. Roland Burton
