The Trail Blazers offers the opportunity to build bridges to the outdoors, and to give every child in St. Mary’s an outdoor experience.  Trails Blazer is the first program to combine Outdoor Education, Outdoor Recreation and Leadership to bring children closer to nature.

We will use a combination of outdoor activities to get kids back in touch with the outdoors world while being active.  A smaol of our planned activities includes:

•Angling
•Geocaching
•Mountain Biking
•Camping
•Stargazing
•Orienteering
•Snow Shoeing
Trail Blazer members will take what they have learned about their community and use that knowledge to suggest improvements for our area at a Municipal Council meeting

Who Can join Trail Blazer?

Trail Blazers is open to elementary school children Grades 4 - 7.  There is a maximum of 20 spots available and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.  To get an application contact the Recreation office at 522-2598.

When is it?

Trail Blazers starts January 11th, 2009 and will be held every Tuesday from 2:30pm - 5:00pm.  Activites will be hosted at the elementary school, Stonewall Park and River Assocation.
