Emergencies resulting from man-made causes include airplane disaster, pollution, toxic gas/chemical spill, serious auto accident, fire, utility failure, structural collapse (building/bridge). The purpose of this plan is to lay down a plan of action for the efficient employment of all services required in order that the following be attained:

The Planning Committee Control Group (all or a portion) will assemble at the scene of the incident. If the emergency is wide-spread (eg. hurricane or snow storm), the Committee should assemble at the Municipal Office in Sherbrooke. Decisions by the Committee should be done through the process of joint decision making and sharing of information. Elected municipal officials should be available to act as a policy group, providing direction to the Planning Committee who will direct the emergency services required.
