Municipal Grants

Low Income Exemption

• Applications for Low Income Tax Exemptions for the 2010-11 fiscal are available. If your income is $15,800 or less, a one hundred ($100) will be applied to your tax account. A copy of your 2008 “Notice of Assessment – RCCA” must be included with your application for the exemption. Applications are due to either your municipal councillors or the municipal office by April 30, 2010.

Grants to Organizations

• Category I – Municipal District Funds - In the 2010-2011 fiscal year each district received $1,500 in district funds to be given out to organizations, students, sports groups, community groups, etc. in need with a specific nature in which they are intended for. Requests for such funds may be made to the councillor who represents the district where the funds will be used. See Policy for Grants to Organizations in Policy Section for further detail.

Grants to Fire Departments

• For the 2009-2010 fiscal year the Municipality of St. Mary’s provided grants to volunteer fire departments totaling $42,822.
