Sherbrooke Library
Sherbrooke LibrarySherbrooke Library, situated at 11 Main St., is a branch of the Eastern Counties Library System. The Library is also the site for the District of St. Mary's & Area Community Access Project (CAP), housing five public access computers with high-speed internet, and wireless access. Photocopying and fax services are available. Check out the selection of fiction, non-fiction, genealogy, local history, reference materials, DVDs, videos, audio books, large print titles, magazines, jigsaw puzzles, for all ages.
The Library offers the following ongoing programs:
§ Preschool Storytime, on Thursdays from Fall to Spring, ages 3-5 years.
§ Seniors’ Café on Friday mornings, 9:30-10:30. The program offers all area seniors the opportunity to come to the Library when it is not open to the general public. Participants are free to use the computers, get assistance with computer-related questions, borrow books and other library materials, participate in group discussions, meet with friends and enjoy light refreshments.
§ Summer Reading Program. During July and August, a weekly program is offered for youngsters 6-12 years of age.
§ Adopt-A-Library Literacy Program. Sherbrooke Library is part of this highly-successful RCMP initiative aimed at encouraging young people to develop a life-long love of reading.
§ Other programming - throughout the year, various other single-event programs are offered.
