Street Lights

How do I report a street light out?

Make sure to have the civic address of the location where the street light is out before phoning either of the following to report the outage.

  1. Your local councillor.
  2. Municipal office, 522-2049.
  3. Nova Scotia Power.

What is the street light area rate?

For the fiscal year 2008-09 the rate is $88.00.

How can I get a street light installed in my area?

  1. A street light can be installed privately through Nova Scotia Power and added onto your power bill.
  2. To become a part of the municipal street light policy a letter must be written to council requesting a street light addition. Generally street lights are located on every second power pole (with some exceptions) between point A and point B in the designated area. Street light additions are done for uniform billing purposes at the first of a fiscal year (April 1st).
