Information Meeting for Residents of Fisherman's Harbour & Surrounding Communities

The Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s will be holding a public meeting for the residents of Fisherman’s Harbour to provide information on a proposed development by Zhongshou Taiyang Health Enhancement & Technology Group (Canada) Ltd. The Company has been in communication with the Municipality to explore the opportunity for a development on lands owned by the Municipality in Fisherman’s Harbour.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday January 22, 2019 at the Port Bickerton Community Centre.
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Open to residents of Fisherman’s Harbour only
7:15 PM to 8:30 PM Open to residents of Fishermen’s Harbour, Port Bickerton, Bickerton West and Harpellville
The Municipality will open both sessions with a brief presentation of the proposed development and will then open the floor for discussion and questions from the residents.

Pioneer Park Meeting

The Municipality held a meeting regarding Pioneer Park on September 16th. The meeting was well attended and some great discussion took place about the revitalization of the park and what opportunities there are for the future. A second meeting will be held November 5th to narrow in the vision for the space to help with the next steps. This will be a guided consultation instead of a round table discussion. We hope you can join us, 6:30pm at the Municipal Office.

This week promotes the importance of municipal government in people's daily lives, and encourages participation in Council meetings, public hearings and committees. It also celebrates the dedicated, wardens, councillors and staff who are essential to the effective governance and services of municipalities.
As a part of Municipal Awareness Week, St. Mary’s will be hosting drop-in tours of our Water Treatment Facility. Join us on November 19th from 1:00-3:00 pm and from 6:00-8:00pm to see the journey our water takes before it makes it to the homes of our residents in Sherbrooke. Watch our Facebook and website for other events that may be held.

Council made a motion to administer this election through telephone voting and internet voting only. There will be no paper ballots. The voting period will run 24 hours a day from January 9, 2021 starting at noon until January 16, 2021 ending at 7:00pm. Voter Information Letters will be sent to eligible voters in the beginning of January 2021.
