The Minister of Justice is seeking Nova Scotians to join the Nova Scotia Accessibility Advisory Committee. The Board provides advice to the Minister on issues related to disability and accessibility. The Accessibility Advisory Board has up to 12 members, there will be five vacancies starting in February 2024 and terms run for three years.
The majority of members must be persons with disabilities, Deaf, and/or neurodivergent persons. Members are required to have one or more of the following:
-Senior leadership and/or board experience
-Experience in public sector policy and administration, finance, communications, human resources, legal services, or stakeholder engagement
-Be an active champion with knowledge of issues that are important in disability communities
The Government of Nova Scotia has an Employment Equity Policy. We welcome applications from Aboriginal people, African Nova Scotians, other racially visible people, persons with disabilities, women, and other employment equity groups.
Applicants are encouraged to self-identify. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2023.
