Accessibility Advisory Committee
The Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) had their first meeting August 31st, 2020.
The committee consists of two members of Council, three municipal staff members and three members of the public representing an organization that represents people with disabilities.
The AAC will be doing audits on Municipally owned facilities and parks.
Sept 9th audits were completed of Stonewall Park and Pioneer Day Park and there was great input and ideas from those audits.
Future audits will be taking place:
Site Audit 2 – Tuesday, September 22nd, 10am – Port Bickerton Light House
Site Audit 3 – Monday, October 5th, 630pm – Municipal Office/Library/16 Main St
Site Audit 4 – Wednesday, October 21st, 630pm – Recplex and Fitness Center
These audits and all meetings are open to the public and the Municipality encourages people to attend and tell the committee their personal experiences with accessibility issues in these areas.
