Adjournment

Last night, the Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s was proud to host our Second Annual First Responders Celebration at the Exhibit Centre in Sherbrooke. We came together to recognize and thank the incredible dedication of our local first responders – the firefighters, paramedics, RCMP & search and rescue personnel who keep our community safe.
Awards were presented for Outstanding Service and for Years of Service, highlighting the courage, commitment, and community spirit of those who go above and beyond. Thank you to all who joined us, and most importantly, to our first responders – your service does not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for everything you do.

The Municipality is selling approximately 4200 square feet of rubber matting located at 164 Old Road Hill. The rubber matting is composed of full and partial 4’x6’ rubber mats. This is the matting in the main areas of the arena and excludes the rubber matting within the dressing rooms. Bidders will be able to come and view the rubber matting From September 8, 2025 to September 11,2025 from 3pm-9pm.  Bids will be accepted until September 18,2025 at noon. There will be a minimum bid of $1,500 plus HST. All bids must be on the provided bid forms and submitted to the Municipal Office in a sealed envelope labeled “Rubber Mat Sealed Tender”. Bid forms can be picked up at the Municipal Office of the St. Mary’s Recplex during viewing hours. Payment for the rubber mats must be made no later than 3 business days after the tender has closed. The removal of the mats will be the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. Mats must be removed within two weeks of the tender closure.

Effective August 15, 2025, at 6:00am

The Sherbrooke Water Utility has ordered mandatory water conservation measures for all residential and commercial customers.

The following activities are not allowed for anyone connected to the Sherbrooke Water Utility:

  • Watering lawns, trees, shrubs, or flower beds
  • Filling or topping up pools
  • Washing down walkways or driveways
  • Washing vehicles

Residents may still water vegetable gardens but are urged to do so sparingly and in the early morning.

Enforcement: The Municipality will enforce these measures. Anyone found breaking this order may have their water service disconnected and be required to pay reconnection fees, as outlined in the Schedule of Rules and Regulations Governing the Supply of Water and Water Services and the Schedule of Rates for Water and Water Services.

These conservation measures will remain in effect until Sherbrooke Lake’s water level returns to an acceptable level.

The Sherbrooke Water Utility thanks all residents and businesses for their cooperation and for helping to use our water resources responsibly.
