Thank you to all that have participated so far in our St. Mary's Summer Walking Challenge. Out of all participants that tracked and submitted week 6 of the challenge we used a random name generator to pick a weekly winner. Our Weekly winner is Meghan Jordan! Congratulations Meghan! You can pick up your prize at the Municipal Office from Monday- Friday 8:30-4pm. We have one week of the challenge left, so make it a good one!

There will be a community meeting this Thursday, August 25th beginning at 10am in the Municipal Council Chambers in regards to the need of a facility licensed childcare for the area. Greg Morrow will be attending this meeting and parents/children are invited to attend.

The Municipality of the District of St. Mary's is excited to formally announce that it has received a Recreation Community Development Grant of $8,500 from the Province of Nova Scotia to support the Seeds of Literacy Program. This funding will assist with the hiring of a Program Coordinator and the development of Free Little Libraries around St. Mary's. The Seeds of Literacy program is a community outreach program focused on children, youth and families. The program's grand launch event will take place at the Sherbrooke Opportunities Society - SHOPS room on September 8th, 2022 which is International Literacy Day! Community members, families, youth and children are invited to join us to learn more about the program, take a look at the books available for borrowing, meet some real life book characters and for light refreshments. The event will take place from 6-8pm. Call 902-522-2598 if you would like to learn more about the Seeds of Literacy Program.
