Our Community Development & Recreation team helps residents stay active, build connections and take part in community life. Our Director of Community Development & Recreation leads the team with support from the Active Living Coordinator, along with Before and After Program and Recreation Programming staff.

Planning and delivering a variety of recreation programs that encourage active living, support wellbeing, build skills and bring people together – with a focus on making participation welcoming and accessible.

Events & Community Support

Bringing people together through community events and working with volunteers, instructors and local partners to create opportunities for residents to connect.

Recreation Spaces

Coordinating facility rentals, recreation schedules and equipment loans to help residents enjoy recreation in our community.

 

Celebrating Our Summer Day Camp

2026 Event/Program Excellence Award | Recreation Nova Scotia

This year, St. Mary’s Summer Day Camp received the Event/Program Excellence Award from Recreation Nova Scotia! St. Mary’s Summer Day Camp runs free for eight weeks each summer for children ages 3-12 and has been free of charge for municipal residents for more than 40 years!
