The Canadian Home Builders’ Association – Nova Scotia (CHBA NS) is offering Know the Code: Understanding the Nova Scotia Building Code, a free three-day training program designed to help participants better understand and navigate the Nova Scotia Building Code.

The training is open to everyone. Participants do not need to be CHBA NS members or have previous experience in the residential construction industry.

The training will cover:

• Navigating and interpreting the National Building Code 2020
• Key Part 9 requirements for housing and small buildings
• Section 9.36 – Energy Efficiency
• Applying building code requirements to residential construction in Nova Scotia
• Practical approaches to building confidence when working with the Code

This training may be particularly valuable for municipal staff, building officials, planning and development staff, contractors, tradespeople, designers, students, and anyone interested in residential construction.

Training is being offered in several regions across Nova Scotia, with both in-person and virtual opportunities available.
