The Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s is pleased to partner with the Clean Foundation through the Clean Leadership Summer Internship Program to hire two Summer Eco-Recreation Leaders for Summer 2026. This 9-week internship (35 hours per week) begins June 25, 2026 (expected start date) and pays $17.00 per hour. Based at 8296 Highway 7 in Sherbrooke, the successful candidates will plan and lead interactive eco-recreation activities, including day camp programming, guided hikes highlighting local ecosystems and wildlife, and hands-on educational experiences that promote sustainability and Leave No Trace principles. This dynamic, outdoor position involves working with children and community members of all ages in parks, trails, and forests throughout the Municipality, and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the environment, enjoy being active, and thrive in a team-based setting.
To be eligible, applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the internship, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or legally entitled to work in Canada, reside in Nova Scotia for the duration of the internship, and not be an immediate family member of the host employer. The Clean Leadership Program is committed to Employment Equity and welcomes applications from qualified self-identifying First Nations, Métis and Inuit people, Racialized Youth, Persons with Disabilities, Newcomers, and 2SLGBTQIA+ applicants.
