As part of Fire Prevention Week, today’s reminder is about safely charging tools and electric rides.

For tools and rides, charge outside.

When charging devices such as e-bikes, scooters, power tools and other battery-powered equipment, choose a safe location outdoors whenever possible. Keep charging equipment away from exits, heat sources and anything that can catch fire, and always follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions.

A small safety step can make a big difference in preventing fires.

SOFT SURFACE? HARD PASS.

Small action. Big impact.

Never charge devices with lithium-ion batteries on soft surfaces such as beds or couches. Charge them on a hard, non-flammable surface instead.
