The Eastern Counties Regional Library has HIV Self-Test Kits: Through a partnership with HEAL NS, HIV self-test kits are now available at all branch locations with other public health & community wellbeing resources.

The Municipality of the District of St. Mary's is advising residents and visitors of Blue-Green Algae (Cyanobacteria) found within the Municipality of the District of St. Mary's. Currently as of today, July 16th, 2025 the only confirmed site in the Municipality, as listed on the environment website, is Indian Harbour Lake (Bloom as of June 2025). 
What You Should Know:
Blue-Green Algae can produce toxins that may be harmful to humans, pets, and wildlife. Avoid contact with the water in the affected area, and do not allow pets to swim or drink from the lake.

If you think you see blue-green algae, you should treat it as potentially toxic. Report it to your local Department of Environment and Climate Change office or call 1-877-936-8476.
